Hog Island Audubon Camp Scholarship for Educators

Sharing Nature: An Educator’s Week, August 9-14, 2026

Hog Island, Bremen, Maine

Bartramian Audubon awards a scholarship each year for an educator (formal or non-formal) within Butler, Mercer, Lawrence and Venango Counties to attend the Sharing Nature: An Educator’s Week session at the Hog Island Audubon Camp in Bremen, Maine. The scholarship is open to teachers of any grade level or subject area or non-formal educators such as an environmental education specialist at a state park or similar educational facility. Participants will explore habitats on Hog Island including tide pools, spruce-fir forest, marshes, bogs and streams. One of the highlights of the week is a full day adventure to Eastern Egg Rock to see the restored puffin and tern colony.  The program offers practical approaches, methods, lessons and activities for engaging both children and adults with nature. Participants are inspired through interaction with instructors and fellow educators as they explore the ecosystems of the Maine coast.
